Badhiya is famous by the name Rasgulla city of Bihar.
Barhiya of Lakhisarai district is famous for the sweetness of its delicious sweets. As soon as Badhiya’s name comes, the picture of delicious Rasgulla starts emerging in the mind and the mouth fills with water. Just like mango is the king of fruits, similarly Rasgulla is called the king of sweets. The demand for Rasgulla here is abundant in Bihar as well as in the neighboring states.

Badhiya, a small town in Lakhisarai district of Bihar, is also known as the city of Rasgulla. Generally, all kinds of rasgulla are prepared in Badhiya, but among all of them, the rasgulla named Atom Bomb is very famous. The taste is such that one would just feel like eating it.

Pure chhena, thin sugar syrup is prepared without flour.
The special thing is that even today 130 to ₹ 200 kg of Rasgulla is available here. The rasgullas here are prepared with pure chhena, thin sugar syrup and without flour. Apart from this, other types of sweets are also made here like Rasgulla, Ras Malai, Kala Jamun, Cream Chaap sweets etc.

Rasgulla Recipe
Artisan Shyam, who prepares Rasgulla, says that milk is brought here from the surrounding areas of Diyara area. Those people extract chena from him. The rasgullas here are light. The reason for this is that Chhaina is whipped a lot. Due to which Chhena becomes light and soft.

3000 people got employment

There are more than 100 Rasgulla shops here. About 3 to 4 quintals of sweets are sold every day. Artisans and laborers are also employed to make it. About 20 to 25 people work in each shop here.

Rasgulla is cheap here
Meghan Singh, who has been operating Maa Sheetla Bhandar in Barhiya for the last 30 years, told that there is ample availability of milk here. Farmers themselves deliver milk here instead of dairy. Better milk is available from this at a lower price. Because of which good quality Rasgulla is provided to the customers at a low price by them and by the shopkeepers of entire Badhiya.
